How To Make Firecracker

cannabis crackers

Looking to whip up a weed edible that takes the least amount of time and effort possible? Look no further than the humble firecracker, quite possibly the simplest cannabis treat you can make. Learning how to make firecrackers is easy, and for the most part foolproof. But there are some things to keep in mind to make sure the firecrackers weed doesn’t burn up, leaving you with a worthless, if tasty, snack.

Given that this is Foodbeast, I probably don’t need to explain why edibles are amazing, but I’m going to do it anyways. First of all, edibles give you a completely different high. It’s more like a really awesome, visceral body high. Secondly, they really come in handy if you’re looking to be buzzed for an extended period of time but don’t want to take your stash with you.

One downside to edibles, though, is that they usually take a while to make, not to mention some skill. I’m not sure about you, but ain’t nobody got time to make canna-butter or canna-oil. That’s why I present to you, the “Firecracker.” Some of you true stoners out there may have heard of this concoction before. If you haven’t, all you need to know is that the dish only requires three ingredients, 30 minutes, and an oven. Perfect for when you want that edible but didn’t plan far enough ahead for brownies.

One thing to note about Firecrackers is that I like to describe them as a “choose your own adventure” high. You have direct control over how much weed you’re putting onto the graham cracker, which means you can decide how high you’re going to get. One gram is standard per Firecracker, but if you have a low tolerance, you can customize to your preferences. Also, remember that edibles take a little while to kick in. Don’t be that noob who goes in for seconds 30 minutes later because you don’t think the edible will work. Have faith.

Make Crispy Cannabis-Infused Crackers!

Simple, easy and when done right, you’ll have the perfect crisp. But why stop at just one recipe when you can have three? Below we’ll teach you how to make delicious crunchy-munchy crackers everyone will love.

Terpenes And Edibles

Terpenes are unique essential oils that are found in each and every Cannabis strain giving the flower it’s aroma and flavor. When cooking or grinding, you may notice the aromas and they definitely take your edibles to new heights.

A spicy and fruity terpene is otherwise known as caryophyllene, which is also found in black pepper. When black pepper is freshly cracked on meat or veggies, then placed on a hot grill, it immediately starts to combust, and a sweet and subtle peppery aroma comes through. That’s caryophyllene that you’re smelling. So warm and spicy!

Another fantastic terpene is the fresh taste of limonene, which is found in citrus fruit. It works perfectly with lemon, bringing its floral notes to the foreground.

And last but not least: pinene, which is found in rosemary and basil. It’s a lovely terpene, with a somewhat rich and spicy, caramelized citrus aroma.

Black Pepper Cannabis Crackers

Equipment

  • Large Bowls
  • Spatula
  • Whisk
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking tray
  • Sharp knife
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp flour (for dusting afterward)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp freshly chopped rosemary
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cannabis-infused olive oil with a strain high in caryophyllene

Instructions

  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, add all your dry ingredients
  • In a separate, smaller mixing bowl add ice water, olive oil, and cannabis oil and whisk together to form a temporary emulsion.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry. At first, the dough will be easy to mix; when it starts to form a ball, switch to kneading with your hands. The cracker dough will become tense and stiffen (if it becomes too stiff to knead, cover loosely with a damp towel for about 5 minutes and the dough should relax and become easier to mix). Keep kneading the dough until it becomes smooth.
  • Let the dough rest for 1 hour or for best results
  • Once the dough has rested, roll it out on a floured cutting board. The thinner the dough is rolled, the crispier and more palatable the cracker will be. Cut the dough into squares and place on a parchment lined baking tray. If you’re feeling creative you can brush with egg wash and dust with hemp hearts or another seed of your choice.
  • Preheat oven to 365° F and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove the crackers from the oven and let cool completely before consumption. The crackers will become crispier as they cool.
